Television stations in New Mexico and two other states on Tuesday were scheduled to begin airing a series of messages prepared by a national advocacy group that focus on the fear of some U.S.-born children that their undocumented parents could be deported.

The two other states where broadcasters are providing free airtime for the TV spots include Minnesota and New York.

Meanwhile, two radio spots on the same topic began airing in Arizona, Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Oregon, Washington and the District of Columbia.

First Focus, a Washington, D.C.-based organization that advocates on behalf of children’s interests, organized the campaign, dubbed “My American Story,” in conjunction with other national advocacy organizations.
