Washington – The bipartisan children’s advocacy organization First Focus today announced that it has accepted The White House’s Invest in US challenge, which seeks to improve outcomes for young children. First Focus and Invest in US partners from business, philanthropy, and the nonprofit sector aim to ensure that all children have access to quality early childhood education.

President Barack Obama announced the Invest in US Challenge today at the White House Summit on Early Education. In joining the initiative, First Focus committed to raise public and policymaker awareness of the need for federal leadership and investments in early childhood.

“President Obama gets it – we’ve got to help kids get a strong start in life, so they enter school ready to learn,” said First Focus president Bruce Lesley. “We can’t keep making the same mistake over and over again – ignoring the problems children face until they get too big or too bad to manage.”
