In his many roles — as Chair of Pediatrics, Senior Associate Dean of Child Health, and Physician-in-Chief at Miami’s Holtz Children's Hospital — Dr. Flores has just one goal: Improve kids’ health. Throughout his career, Dr. Flores has won many prestigious awards, testified before Congress, advised U.S. federal agencies, and has published more than 250 research and policy papers addressing childhood obesity, racial/ethnic disparities in children’s health and other topics. He authored the 2018 legislation that allows Parent Mentor programs to receive federal funding for outreach efforts around the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). He also serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Health Care for the Poor and Underserved.
