Washington – Senator Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) will host a community roundtable discussion on federal investments in children and families on Friday, February 28, 2014, at 1:30 p.m. in the Potter Room at Christ Church United Methodist, 1221 Quarrier Street in Charleston. Rockefeller has consistently championed federal initiatives that improve the lives of children in West Virginia and throughout the country, including the Children’s Health Insurance Program and Medicaid, the Earned Income Tax Credit, and the Child Tax Credit. In response to the senator’s announcement of the event, First Focus released the following statement from First Focus president Bruce Lesley:

“Senator Rockefeller has devoted his career to improving the lives of children and hard-working families, and he’s been consistently connected to West Virginia families. Friday’s meeting illustrates both – it’s a chance for West Virginia families and those who speak on their behalf to explore the future of these critical investments.”
