In response to the Senate’s tentative agreement on gun violence legislation, President of First Focus on Children Bruce Lesley issued the following statement:

“We are pleased to see the Senate work through some of their partisan differences to arrive at a tentative agreement to combat gun violence. We look forward to future negotiations with cautious optimism and stress that while we are pleased by any progress on this issue, we are also painfully aware that much, much more must be done. We remain committed to supporting our fellow advocates as they push to protect our children from gun violence, which is the number one cause of death for children in this country.”
