In response to the Food and Drug Administration announcement that it will seek a ban on menthol-flavored cigarettes and all flavored cigars, Bruce Lesley, president of First Focus on Children, issued the following statement:
“We’re pleased that the Food and Drug Administration has decided to pursue a ban on menthol cigarettes and flavored cigars, which lure children and young people into addiction. We realize that the fight to keep tobacco out of the hands of children is long and difficult, but it is one we must win. We look forward to continuing to work with our fellow advocates in this effort.”
