The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation recently shared with us an exciting opportunity for up and coming leaders in the healthcare community.
The Community Health Leaders program, organized by the RWJ Foundation, honors ten incredible individuals in health advocacy each year. Since 1991, 178 individuals have been recognized all over the country for their exceptional work to improve health and health care in their communities. Recipients of this award not only join a remarkable group of advocates, but also win $20,000 for their professional development and $105,000 for a specific project at their organizations.
Massive strides were made this year for our children’s health with the passage of federal health care reform. However, we shouldn’t forget that there are so many dedicated child health advocates and organizations that improve the lives of children in their community daily. If you know of an outstanding health advocate deserving of this prestigious honor, we encourage you to consider nominating them for the Community Health Leaders award program.
Nominations for this award are still being accepted, but take note, the deadline for submissions are this Friday, October 22nd.To learn more about the program and nomination process, visit the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Community Health Leaders website.
