At some point in their lives, nearly everyone needs time away from work to care for a new child, a sick parent or partner, or to recover from a serious illness themselves. Often, however, those workers are forced to choose between what is best for themselves and their families and their own economic and job security. In fact, just 11 percent of the U.S. workforce receives paid family leave through their employers.
We believe the 2016 election is the perfect time to put family leave in the spotlight. Will you join us and our partners at MomsRising.org and Young Invincibles in signing the petition below calling on presidential candidates to share their position on paid family leave and make the well-being of families a campaign priority?
