Sponsored by U.S. Senator Patty Murray, U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski, and U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein. Voices of Youth is a facilitated discussion among ten homeless/formerly homeless youth about issues that have made a difference in their lives, especially education (including post-secondary education) and housing. The students will inspire you with the resilience with which they have faced the challenges of homelessness while maintaining determination to complete their education, and live healthy, productive lives. Come learn about the personal drive; inner strength; and federal, state, and community resources that helped these students to overcome the obstacles associated with instability and trauma. This will be an inspiring event that will provide insight on the resilience of youth, and the supports that are necessary to build and maintain that resilience. Students from California, Indiana, Georgia, Louisiana, Texas, Virginia, and Washington will be participating in the discussion. Ms. Barb Dexter, local homeless education liaison for the Anchorage School District (Alaska), will moderate the discussion.

Registration is now closed to non-Congressional staff.
