Join us for a powerful discussion on how student advocates are leading efforts to tackle the youth mental health crisis and influence policy change.
In this briefing, we hear directly from students participating in a mental health prevention program that addresses Black youth mental health. The Youth Empowered Advocating for Health (YEAH) program centers students’ knowledge and experiences to create and improve public policy and is being implemented at sites in Georgia, North Carolina, and Missouri. Four students describe the program and their work and share the policy recommendations that have come out of this community-based program. We also hear from researchers at Emory University and the University of North Carolina who have been implementing this program to identify youth priorities to promote healthy communities for over a decade.
