Please join First Focus on Children and partner organizations for an important conversation on child nutrition, food insecurity, and related federal policies and programs that are in play this summer. For many children, summer is a period of increased food insecurity as the school year ends. It is also a time when Congress will negotiate critical legislation related to child nutrition.
This briefing will discuss three major efforts underway this summer that work to support child health and nutrition: Summer EBT and SUN Bucks, the Farm Bill, and Appropriations. Our expert panelists will give the latest updates on these opportunities, share what the child advocacy community is continuing to call for and explore how we can use this moment to shape children’s nutrition policy.
We are pleased to share that live remarks will be given by special guest Congresswoman Alma S. Adams Ph.D and Administrator Cindy Long of USDA’s Food and Nutrition Services will join by video.
Doors open at 9:45 AM in Rayburn 2075.
