The Honorable David Cicilline (D-RI) Lead Sponsor of H.R. 1848, legislation to amend the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 to prohibit employment of children in tobacco-related agriculture in the United States.

The Honorable Lucille Roybal-Allard (D-CA) Lead sponsor of H.R. 2964, the Children’s Act for Responsible Employment (CARE Act), which would ban children from doing wage work at 12 and hazardous work at 16.

Margaret Wurth Wurth, from Human Rights Watch, presents new research on the impact of nicotine poisoning and toxic pesticides on young tobacco workers.
