Bridging the Empathy Gap: Networked Communities to Address Social Inclusion for Immigrant Children and Youth
The UCLA Institute for Immigration, Globalization, and Education, in collaboration with the Ford Foundation, is convening a symposium focused on identifying strategies to optimize the successful inclusion of immigrant-origin children and youth into our societies. As xenophobia and exclusion become ever more pronounced, we need robust, creative, and multi-pronged approaches to address the challenges. The primary goal of this symposium is to gather researchers, creatives, community advocates, and policymakers to pursue a collective impact strategy that is grounded in shared commitments and an agenda for action to address the social justice needs of immigrant-origin children and youth.

Wendy Cervantes, VP of Immigration and Child Rights, will be participating in the symposium on behalf of First Focus.
