1 in 4 children in the U.S. are children ofimmigrants, and in recent years we have seen record-setting numbers in the increase of unaccompanied minors entering the country. First Focus and the Women’s Refugee Commission have developed principles for children in immigration reform that have been endorsed by more than 200 organizations representing children, immigrants, academia, faith communities, and civil rights. These principles were created to ensure that the best interest of children and families are considered as policymakers move forward with immigration reform.
