First Focus on Children urged the House Ways and Means Tax Subcommittee to embrace policies that meaningfully support children in comments submitted for the record regarding the hearing entitled “Your Paycheck, Returned: How the Working Families Tax Cuts Delivered for Americans.”
“As a bipartisan children’s advocacy organization dedicated to making children a priority in federal policy and budget decisions, we believe Congress should pursue tax policies that meaningfully reduce child poverty, improve family economic stability, and provide direct support to families raising children,” the comments said. “Unfortunately, much of the rhetoric surrounding the so-called ‘working families’ provisions in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) obscures a more troubling reality: many of the families with the greatest needs are left behind.”
