This Friday is Universal Children’s Day and we would love your help celebrating our children and advocating for ratification of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC).

The CRC outlines a comprehensive list of rights for children, and the role they and families play in society to allow children to “develop their full potential, free from hunger and want, neglect and abuse.” The United States was one of the principle authors of the CRC, and already meets many of its standards. It is the most widely-ratified human rights treaty in history. And Americans support ratification by a 4-to-1 margin.

Despite widespread support for the CRC, the United States is literally the only nation in the world that has not ratified the measure, and we should be embarrassed. We really need President Obama to conduct the review of the treaty and send it to the Senate before he leaves office.

It will make a lasting impact, and every little bit of your support helps. Please join us on social media this week in our campaign.

Step 1: Update your Twitter and Facebook  profile images to let everyone know you support child rights.
