Executive Director, The Learning Centers at Fairplex
As executive director for The Learning Centers at Fairplex, Roberto oversees the nonprofit’s efforts, which range from early childhood education programs to career and technical training, and community enrichment such as field trips and the Millard Sheets Art Center. Prior to joining Fairplex in 2022, Roberto spent more than 20 years as a policy manager and advocate for children and youth, most recently as Director of College Access and Success with UNITE-LA, a nonprofit organization that leads collaborative education reform efforts. He is a former high school teacher who also served as the Children’s Deputy for Los Angeles County’s First District and has held other policy positions at the local and national level, including at First Focus on Children.
